Jim Harbaugh is 2-5 against the Buckeyes, and 82-25 since taking the Wolverine Head Job. Ryan Day is 1-2 against the Wolverines; he has accumulated a 56-6 record at Ohio State, and is 39-2 in Big Ten Conference play.

Ryan Day is 1-2 against the Wolverines, if he loses his third in a row, will the Buckeyes fire him?

Jim Harbaugh will be missing from The Game due to the Sign Stealing Scandal; this is his 6th game he's missed in 2023 due to suspension

Michigan Band performed Script Ohio on October 15, 1932 at Columbus; the Buckeyes adopted the tradition in 1936. At one time, both football programs had mutual respect for one another; however, that changed in 1951 when Woody Hayes arrived in Columbus.

TreVeyon Henderson

On offense, the Buckeyes are led by Junior Quarterback Kyle McCord; he has completed 211 of 318 for 2,899 yards and 22 TDs with only 4 interceptions, and his quarterback rating is 163.24. McCord has the best wide receiving corps in the Big Ten, and perhaps NCAA Football with Junior Marvin Harrison Jr. who has caught 62 passes for 13 TDs; he has caught 150 passes over three seasons with the Buckeyes for 30 TDs, and will most likely go high in the NFL draft in May. McCord also looks for Senior Emeka Egbuka; he has 32 catches including 3 TDs this season. Freshmen Carnell Tate and Senior Julian Fleming have also been big contributors to the Buckeye offense with 17 and 23 receptions this season. 6th Year Senior Xavier Johnson has 10 receptions this season. McCord looks for 5th Year Senior Tight End Cade Stover in the red zone and for third down conversions; he has 38 receptions for 5 TDs. Gee Scott is the backup Tight End. The offensive line is led by Senior Right Guard, Matthew Jones; Junior Josh Fryar and Redshirt Sophomore Josh Simmons are the tackles, Redshirt Sophomore Donovan Jackson mans Left Guard, and Redshirt Freshman Carson Hinzman is the Center. Senior Enokk Vimahi and Freshmam Luke Montgomery are top reserves. Ohio State ranks 8th in the Big Ten in Rushing Offense, but they have a dangerous runner with Treveyon Henderson; he averages 6.7 yards per carry with 10 TDs. Henderson has fought through injuries this season, and played only 8 games; however, he is expected to be ready for this one. Henderson's backups are Seniors Chip Trayanum and Miyan Williams; they are all solid running backs, and dangerous as pass catchers.

Marvin Harrison Jr.

Emeka Egbuka

Cade Stover

Ohio State tore down the Michigan Banner in the 1973 game by order of Woody Hayes; the banner tradition began at Michigan in 1962. This is just one of the incidents that ended the mutual respect between the two football traditions.

Tommy Eichenberg

On defense, Ohio State is led by Senior MIKE Linebacker Tommy Eichenberg; he has 75 tackles this season, and didn't start the last two games due to injury. Cody Simon has 44 tackles as the MIKE backup; he started the last two games. WILL Linebacker Steele Chambers has 60 tackles. Sophomore C.J. Hicks backs up Chambers. The Buckeye linebacking tandem is very active, and will give both J.J. McCarthy and Blake Corum all they can handle. Junior Defensive Tackle Tyleik Williams leads the Buckeyes in tackles for loss with 10 of his 45 overall tackles with 5 tipped passes. Redshirt Junior Ty Hamilton is the Nose Tackle. Michael Hall Jr. backups up Hamilton, and he has been fighting through injury issues. Junior Defensive End Jack Sawyer has 38 tackles. Defensive End J.T. Tuimoloau has 30 tackles, and can be a menace in rushing the quarterback into hurried throws. Junior Kenyatta Jackson backs up Tuimoloau. Jaden McKenzie and Caden Curry backup Williams and Sawyer. In the backfield, Free Safety Josh Proctor and Cornerback Denzel Burke are their two standouts. Davison Igbinosun is the other cornerback. Strong Safety Sonny Styles has 41 tackles. Nickel Back, Jordan Hancock, has 35 tackles with 4 pass break ups. Freshman Jermaine Mathews, Senior Ja'Had Carter, Freshman Malik Hartford, Redshirt Freshman Ryan Turner, and Sophomore Jyaire Brown are all in reserve in the backfield and could see action; Hartford has started two games, and Mathews has one start this season. Ohio State leads the nation with 4 defensive TDs this season.

Steele Chambers

Bo and Woody brought the rivalry to new heights during the "10 Year War" following the 50-14 game in 1968 where Woody went for 2. Woody coached The Game in 28 seasons, and Bo coached it 21 times which was longer than any other coach from either school.

Jayden Fielding

On special teams, Sophomore Jayden Fielding handles kickoffs, extra points, and field goals; he is 14 of 16 in field goals with a 47 yarder, and has a 63.1 yard average on 70 kickoffs with 40 touchbacks. Fielding is 46 of 47 on extra points. Junior Jesse Mirco handles the punting with a 43.03 yard average in 39 punts with 15 downed inside the 20, and 9 punts over 50 yards. Jayden Ballard handles punt returns; he has 8 returns for a 5.88 yard average. Emeka Egbuka could also be deep. Xavier Johnson is the kickoff return specialist; he has 9 returns for a 23.11 yard average.

In order for Michigan to defeat Ohio State, they need to stop the Buckeye running attack first, and then put a lot of pressure on McCord so he is unable to get into a rhythm with the passing attack. Our defensive backs will need to have their best day covering the dangerous Ohio State receivers, but a stellar pass rush will be a huge help. Maryland held the Buckeyes to only 62 yards on the ground, Penn State held them to 79, and Notre Dame allowed 126 yards. Rutgers allowed Ohio State only 189 yards in passing; although Notre Dame allowed the Buckeyes 240 yards in the air, they didn't allow a passing TD. Wisconsin got 4 sacks on the Buckeyes, and held them to only 226 yards in the air with 2 TDs. Notre Dame held Ohio State to 17 points, Penn State gave up 20 and forced 6 Buckeye punts, and Wisconsin let up 24 points in losses to the Buckeyes. At halftime, Ohio State led Notre Dame, 3-0, Penn State, 10-6, Wisconsin, 10-3, and were tied with Maryland, 10-10. Rutgers led Ohio State at halftime, 9-7. Michigan will be the best defense Ohio State will face this season.

On offense, Michigan will certainly need to establish a running game against a solid Buckeye defense who has only allowed 3 rushing TDs all season. Rutgers ran for 232 yards against them. J.J. McCarthy will have to have his best game of the season, and avoid sacks, hurries, and turnovers; the play calling, decision-making, and execution on 3rd down will need to be much better. Cornelius Johnson, Colston Loveland, and Roman Wilson will need to have big games catching the ball against a stingy Buckeye defensive backfield who has only allowed 7 passing TDs this season. Both Donovan Edwards and Cornelius Johnson had big games against the Buckeyes in 2022, can they repeat those efforts? Michigan will need a big second half with its home field advantage to win this one! This will be a low-scoring defensive struggle, and difficult for either team to get to 30 points against such strong defenses; however, I think Michigan will come out on top!

Bump Elliott, Bo Schembechler, Gary Moeller and Lloyd Carr in 2004; they coached Michigan Football, 1958-2007

This is the greatest rivalry in all of sports in the United States. They have played every year since 1918, and the game was moved to the last Saturday of the season in 1935. Even though Michigan holds an advantage with 59 wins in 117 games; since 1918, the series is 47 wins and 49 losses with 4 ties. The Buckeyes began calling this series the "Gold Pants" which began in 1934, and hold a 42-37-4 advantage. Ohio State also takes pride in their record against Michigan since the Snow Bowl in 1950 when the Woody Hayes era began, they are 36-28-2 since 1951 (2010 Buckeye win removed). Harbaugh crushes Buckeye Nut with Hammer on Bo's Grave

Chris Spielman had 29 tackles against Michigan in 1986, but it wasn't enough to defeat a Jim Harbaugh guaranteed win, 26-24
