Observations on the first half with Indiana, 28-17
Michigan offense converts five red zones for 28 points, but the Hoosiers quick strike offense comes back with 3 scores to make it a 2 score game at half. No turnovers for either team.
Devin Gardner is 12 of 18 for 237 yards and a TD plus 8 runs for 39 yards for another TD. Fitzgerald Touissaint has 56 yards on 12 carries for 2 TDs. Jeremy Gallon has 8 catches for 170 yards. Michigan has an incredible 20 first downs, 348 yards on 45 plays with a 12 minute time of possession advantage, and is 5 of 8 on 3rd and 4th down conversions. We have only been forced into one punt.
James Ross and Ramon Taylor lead the defense with 4 tackles each, Desmond Morgan has 3 tackles including a sack. Indiana has 200 net yards in 27 plays. The two quarterbacks are 9 of 15 for 152 yards and 2 TDs. Cody Latimore has 3 catches for 79 yards and one TD, and Shane Wynn has 2 catches for 34 yards and the other TD. The Hoosiers are 2 of 6 in 3rd down conversions; we forced them into 4 punts.
Special teams were bad again. Gibbons had a field goal blocked. Kickoff team has a 40 yard return after a fumble. Norfleet had a 1 yard kickoff return after going backwards, but also had a 44 yarder.
Second half will continue to be high scoring with probably a 56-41 final. They can't stop us, and we can't always stop them.
