Observations on the first half with Ohio, 14-14
Michigan converted two red zones for 14 points; Ohio converted one red zone for 7 points, and a 25 yards big play TD by Barrett to tie the score with 7 seconds to go in the half.
Devin Gardner was 11 of 15 for 129 yards and a TD plus an interception, and has 7 carries for 11 yards after 3 sacks were deducted. Drake Johnson ran 10 times for 49 yards and a TD. Devin Funchess has 5 catches for 78 yards, and Jake Butt grabbed 2 for 24 yards and a TD. Offense rolled for 13 first downs, 203 net yards, 74 on the ground, and was 4 of 6 on 3rd down conversions.. Offense had an 8 minute time of possession advantage which resulted in 5 more offensive plays. Buckeye defense was led by Vonn Bell with 8 tackles, and an interception.
Defense held Ohio to 176 net yards, 9 first downs, and 3 of 6 in 3rd down conversions forcing the Buckeyes into 3 punts; however, the final drive changed the game's momentum. J.T. Barrett was 7 of 14 for 65 yards and a TD plus he ran for 66 yards and another TD. Ezekiel Elliot has 9 carries for 46 yards. We obviously must do a better job containing Barrett if we are to pull an upset. Jake Ryan has 5 tackles to lead the defense.
Special Teams looked bad early with Marshall's 23 yard punt return, and poor kickoff return to start the game by Norfleet.
Second Half could be close if we don't have any turnovers. Defense has to stop the Buckeyes on the first drive to regain momentum. Go Blue!
