Conference Rankings

1-PAC 10-Pacific Athletic Conference(36.3): Bowl Record: 3-2
USC Pacific 10 5 7W-1L Oregon State
California Pacific 10 20 8W-2L Tennessee/Arizona
Oregon Pacific 10 25 7W-3L California/Washington State/USC
Arizona Pacific 10 30 5W-5L LSU/USC/Washington/UCLA/Oregon State
Arizona State Pacific 10 32 6W-4L California/Oregon/USC/Oregon State
Washington State Pacific 10 33 6W-5L Auburn/USC/California/Arizona/Arizona State
UCLA Pacific 10 34 5W-5L Washington/Oregon/Notre Dame/Washington St./California
Oregon State Pacific 10 35 6W-4L Boise State/California/Washington State/UCLA
Washington Pacific 10 58 4W-7L Oklahoma/USC/Oregon St./California/Arizona St./Oregon/Stanford
Stanford Pacific 10 91 1W-9L Oregon/San Jose St./Navy/Washington St./UCLA/Notre Dame/Arizona/Arizona St./USC

USC-California winner gets the Rose Bowl; loser is in the Holiday Bowl. How about the USC-Notre Dame winner taking on the loser of the Michigan-Ohio State match in the Rose Bowl? The Oregon-Oregon State, Arizona-Arizona State, UCLA-USC and Washington-Washington State winners will determine the spots for the Sun, Emerald, Las Vegas and Hawaii Bowls.

2-SEC-Southeastern (37.25): Bowl Record: 3-3
Florida Southeastern-E 7 9W-1L Auburn
Tennessee Southeastern-E 11 7W-3L Florida/LSU/Arkansas
South Carolina Southeastern-E 31 5W-5L Georgia/Auburn/Tennessee/Arkansas/Florida
Kentucky Southeastern-E 37 6W-4L Louisville/Florida/South Carolina/LSU
Georgia Southeastern-E 39 7W-4L Tennessee/Vanderbilt/Florida/Kentucky
Vanderbilt Southeastern-E 85 4W-7L Michigan/Alabama/Arkansas/Mississippi/South Carolina/Florida/Kentucky
Arkansas Southeastern-W 6 9W-1L USC
LSU Southeastern-W 8 8W-2L Auburn/Florida
Auburn Southeastern-W 14 9W-2L Arkansas/Georgia
Alabama Southeastern-W 41 6W-5L Arkansas/Florida/Tennessee/Mississippi State/LSU
Mississippi Southeastern-W 80 3W-7L Missouri/Kentucky/Wake Forest/Georgia/Alabama/Arkansas/Auburn
Mississippi State Southeastern-W 88 3W-7L Tulane/Auburn/South Carolina/LSU/West Virginia/Georgia/Kentucky

The SEC title game looks to pit Florida against Arkansas. The SEC should get two teams to the BCS under this new format; winner to Sugar, loser to the Orange much to the chagrin of the Cotton Bowl. The Bowl spots open for Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and South Carolina will depend on what those top 2 teams do after the Sugar, Cotton and other BCS spot is decided. The Capital One, Outback, Peach, Music City and Independence are all possibilities. The most likely scenario places Arkansas in the BCS title game if they beat LSU and Florida with Florida in the Sugar or Orange Bowl, and Auburn or LSU going to the Cotton or Capital One Bowls. This conference will have 8 bowl eligible teams, two in the BCS bowls with the other six going somewhere.

3-Big Twelve (40.75): Bowl Record: 5-3
Nebraska Big 12-N 21 8W-3L USC/Texas/Oklahoma State
Missouri Big 12-N 28 7W-3L Texas A&M/Oklahoma/Nebraska
Kansas State Big 12-N 42 7W-4L Louisville/Baylor/Nebraska/Missouri/Texas
Kansas Big 12-N 50 5W-5L Toledo/Nebraska/Texas A&M/Oklahoma St./Baylor
Colorado Big 12-N 64 2W-9L Arizona State/Colorado State/Montana State/Georgia/Missouri/Baylor/Oklahoma/Kansas/Kansas St.
Iowa State Big 12-N 86 3W-7L Iowa/Texas/Nebraska/Oklahoma/Kansas St./Texas Tech/Kansas
Texas Big 12-S 10 9W-2L Ohio State/Kansas State
Oklahoma Big 12-S 16 8W-2L Texas/Oregon
Texas A&M Big 12-S 22 8W-3L Texas Tech/Oklahoma/Nebraska
Texas Tech Big 12-S 40 6W-4L TCU/Missouri/Colorado/Texas
Oklahoma State Big 12-S 48 6W-4L Houston/Kansas State/Texas A&M/Texas
Baylor Big 12-S 62 4W-7L TCU/Washington State/Army/Texas/Texas A&M/Texas Tech/Oklahoma St.

It looks like the Texas-Texas A&M winner sets up a championship game of Texas or Oklahoma versus Nebraska, and the winner goes to the Fiesta with the loser going to the Cotton. The most likely scenario places Texas in the Fiesta, Nebraska in the Cotton and Oklahoma in the Holiday. Missouri, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech should qualify for the Alamo, Insight, Independence, Texas and possibly even the Gator Bowls. This conference has the most Bowl qualifiers with 9 teams.

4-ACC-Atlantic Coast (40.83): Bowl Record: 5-3
Wake Forest Atlantic Coast-A 15 9W-1L Clemson
Boston College Atlantic Coast-A 17 8W-2L North Carolina State/Wake Forest
Maryland Atlantic Coast-A 19 8W-2L West Virginia/Georgia Tech
Clemson Atlantic Coast-A 26 8W-3L Boston College/Virginia Tech/Maryland
Florida State Atlantic Coast-A 29 5W-5L Clemson/North Carolina State/Boston College/Maryland/Wake Forest
North Carolina State Atlantic Coast-A 65 3W-7L Akron/Southern Mississippi/Wake Forest/Maryland/Virginia/Georgia Tech/Clemson
Georgia Tech Atlantic Coast-C 18 8W-2L Notre Dame/Clemson
Virginia Tech Atlantic Coast-C 23 8W-2L Georgia Tech/Boston College
Miami-Florida Atlantic Coast-C 27 5W-5L Florida State/Louisville/Georgia Tech/Virginia Tech/Maryland
Virginia Atlantic Coast-C 63 4W-6L Pittsburgh/Georgia Tech/Western Michigan/East Carolina/Maryland/Florida St.
North Carolina Atlantic Coast-C 78 1W-9L Rutgers/Virginia Tech/Clemson/Miami-FL/South Florida/Virginia/Wake Forest/Notre Dame/Georgia Tech
Duke Atlantic Coast-C 110 0W-10L Virginia Tech/Wake Forest/Richmond/Virginia/Alabama/Florida St./Miami-FL/Vanderbilt/Navy/Boston College

ACC will play the role of spoiler with no undefeated teams. One team in the BCS, and the #2 team to the Gator. The title game looks to be the Wake Forest or Maryland against Georgia Tech. Other teams looking to be Bowl eligible include Boston College, Clemson, Miami-Florida, Virginia Tech and Florida State as the spots for the Peach, Champs, Music City, Meinke, Emerald and MPC Computer Bowls are decided. This conference has a chance for 8 bowl eligible teams.

5-Big Ten (45.64): Bowl Record: 3-4; 2 undefeated teams
Michigan Big Ten 1 11W-0L None
Ohio State Big Ten 2 11W-0L None
Wisconsin Big Ten 4 10W-1L Michigan
Penn State Big Ten 43 7W-4L Notre Dame/Ohio State/Michigan/Wisconsin
Iowa Big Ten 45 6W-5L Ohio State/Indiana/Michigan/Northwestern/Wisconsin
Purdue Big Ten 46 6W-4L Notre Dame/Iowa/Wisconsin/Penn State
Minnesota Big Ten 67 5W-6L California/Purdue/Michigan/Penn State/Wisconsin/Ohio State
Indiana Big Ten 69 5W-6L Southern Illinois/Connecticut/Wisconsin/Ohio State/Minnesota/Michigan
Illinois Big Ten 71 2W-9L Rutgers/Syracuse/Indiana/Iowa/Ohio Univ./Penn State/Wisconsin/Ohio St./Purdue
Michigan State Big Ten 73 4W-7L Notre Dame/Illinois/Michigan/Ohio St./Indiana/Purdue/Minnesota
Northwestern Big Ten 81 3W-8L New Hampshire/Nevada/Penn State/Wisconsin/Purdue/Michigan State/Michigan/Ohio State

It looks like the winner of Michigan-Ohio State in Columbus will be in the BCS title game; the loser qualifies for the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin and Penn State look to get the Capital One and Outback bids with Purdue and Iowa taking the Alamo and Champs spots. The Insight and Motor City will have to fill their spot elsewhere unless Minnesota trips Iowa to be Bowl eligible. The Big Ten went back to the Big Two and the Little Nine this year with only six bowl eligible teams.

6-Big East (47.00): Bowl Record: 1-3; 1 undefeated team

Rutgers Big East 9 9W-0L None
Louisville Big East 12 8W-1L Rutgers
West Virginia Big East 13 8W-1L Louisville
South Florida Big East 51 7W-3L Kansas/Rutgers/Cincinnati
Connecticut Big East 53 4W-5L Wake Forest/Navy/South Florida/West Virginia/Rutgers
Pittsburgh Big East 54 6W-4L Michigan State/Rutgers/South Florida/Connecticut
Cincinnati Big East 55 5W-5L Ohio State/Pittsburgh/Virginia Tech/Louisville/West Virginia
Syracuse Big East 82 3W-7L Iowa/Wake Forest/Pittsburgh/West Virginia/Louisville/Cincinnati/South Florida
If Rutgers beats West Virginia, they'll be undefeated and represent the conference in the Orange Bowl against Wake Forest if they win the ACC title game or the Florida-Arkansas loser in the SEC title game. West Virginia or Louisville could qualify for a BCS game if they win out. This means one in the Sugar and the other in the Gator. South Florida, Pittsburgh and the winner of the Cincinnati-Connecticut game are looking to go the Sun, Texas, Birmingham or the new International Bowl.

7--Independents (65.00): Bowl Record: 1-1
Notre Dame Independent 3 9W-1L Michigan
Navy Independent 44 7W-3L Tulsa/Rutgers/Notre Dame
Army Independent 96 3W-7L Arkansas State/Texas A&M/Rice/Connecticut/TCU/Tulane/Air Force
Temple Independent 117 1W-10L Buffalo/Louisville/Minnesota/Western Michigan/Vanderbilt/Kent St./Clemson/Northern Illinois/CMU/Penn St.

Notre Dame must win out to make a BCS game, this includes beating USC. Otherwise, it looks like the Gator Bowl for the Irish. Navy accepted a Meinke Bowl invitation.

BYU has the inside track to the Las Vegas Bowl with the Poinsettia, Armed Forces and New Mexico Bowls ready to select from TCU, Utah, Air Force, New Mexico or Wyoming.
