Observations on the first half with Wisconsin, 7-0

Michigan gained two red zones, but only came away with 7 points. Wisconsin had no red zones. The Wolverines got a turnover with a minute left in the half, but were forced into a halftime ending punt. Each team had one "3 and out."

Offense gained 10 first downs, 172 net yards with 72 on the ground, but were only 1 of 5 in 3rd down conversions. Wilton Speight is 10 of 19 for 100 yards. DeVeon Smith has 7 carries for 27 yards and a catch for 4 yards. Chris Evans has 4 carries for 31 yards, and a 9 yard catch. Both Jehu Chesson and Amara Darboh have 3 receptions each while Grant Perry and Jake Butt have one each. Jabrill Peppers ran a couple of plays in wildcat with no carries. Khalid Hill scored the only TD with a 1 yard plunge. Jack Cichy and T.J. Edwards lead the Badgers with 6 tackles each.

Defense was solid! The Badgers had only 5 first downs, and gained 98 net yards with only 34 on the ground with 3 of 9 in 3rd down conversions. Alex Hornibrook was 5 of 13 for 64 yards and a pick by Channing Stribling. Corey Clement has 9 carries for 31 yards. Robert Wheelwright has 2 receptions for 44 yards. Ryan Glasgow led the Wolverines with 5 tackles including a sack and a tipped pass. We forced the Badgers into 5 punts and a turnover. Bryan Mone is back and contributing on the DLine!

Special Teams ened up lousy because of two missed field goals, but were great on kickoff coverage and Kenny Allen nailed 3 punts for a 46.3 yard average including a 56 yarder with all 3 punts inside the 20. Peppers has 2 punt returns for 19 yards. Time of possession favors Michigan by a minute and a half which gave them 8 more offensive plays. Yes, it could be 13-0, but it unfortunately is not.

Second Half will continue to be a nailbiter! Go Blue!
