Observations on the first half with USC, 14-3

Michigan gained no red zones, and had no turnovers; USC scored 3 points off one red zone trip.

Offense looked much better! The Wolverines rolled up 220 total yards with 199 on the ground; they had 10 first downs, and were 4 of 10 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Alex Orji hit 4 of 7 passes for 21 yards, and ran 7 times for 47 yards. Kalel Mullings ran 7 times for 72 yards and a TD. Donovan Edwards ran 12 times for 65 yards and a TD; he also caught a 9 yard pass. Freddy Moore ran an end around for 15 yards, and had 5 yard reception. Semaj Morgan caught 2 passes for 7 yards. The Wolverines dominated time of possession with over 6 minutes of an edge; this led to running 5 more offensive plays. Easton Mascarenas-Arnold led the Trojans with 7 tackles.

Defense is having its best game of the season! USC gained 118 net yards with -16 on the ground; they had 6 first downs, and were only one of 7 in 3rd down conversions. Miller Moss hit 11 of 20 for 134 yards, but was sacked twice by the Wolverine defense. Zachariah Branch has 4 receptions for 85 yards. Jay Fair has 2 receptions for 26 yards. Woody Marks has one reception for 15 yards. Duce Robinson has one reception for 10 yards. Ernest Hausmann and Mason Graham led the Wolverines with 3 tackles each. Josaiah Stewart had two quarterback hits and 2 tackles including a sack. Derrick Moore also has 2 quarterback hits.

Special Teams were good! Tommy Doman had 4 punts for 44.5 yards with 3 downed inside the 20. Both teams punted 4 times.
