Observations on the win over Northwestern, 50-6

Michigan came up with 7 red zone trips for 45 points; Northwestern could only find the red zone twice in the first half for 6 points. The Wildcasts could only score 3 points off one Wolverine turnover, and the Wolverines scored 14 points off two Wildcat interceptions.

Offense had their best game! They gained 396 net yards with 25 first downs; they were 12 of 17 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Davis Warren hit 26 of 35 for 195 yards and a TD, but also an interception; Warren was sacked once for a 9 yard loss. We had a big second half rushing the ball, and came up with 201 yards in net rushing. Kalel Mullings had 12 carries for 92 yards and 3 TDs; he also caught 2 passes for 17 yards. Donovan Edwards gained 65 yards on 10 carries for a TD, and caught 4 passes for another 17 yards. Tyler Morris caught 7 passes for 64 yards, and had a 9 yard run. Colston Loveland caught 3 passes for 22 yards and a TD, but left the game with a shoulder injury. Jordan Marshall had 7 carries for 17 yards. Tavierre Dunlap had a 20 yard TD run. Freddy Moore had 2 receptions for 26 yards, and a 7 yard run. Peyton O'Leary, Kendrick Bell, Marlin Klein, Max Bredeson, and Micah Ka'apana all had receptions as Warren dished the ball to 11 receivers. Michigan had a 11:30 time of possession advantage that resulted in 21 more offensive plays. Damon Walters had 10 tackles to lead the Northwestern defense. Xander Mueller had 9 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception. Devin Turner also had 9 tackles.

Defense held Northwestern to 127 net yards with 10 on the ground, and 8 first downs; the Wildcats were only 5 of 15 in 3rd & 4th down conversions. Jack Lausch hit 10 of 21 for 106 yards with 2 interceptions by Aamir Hall and Mason Curtis; he was sacked 6 times by Wolverine defenders. Bryce Kirtz had 3 catches for 67 yards. Cam Porter ran 7 times for 24 yards. The Wolverines had 6 sacks. Ernest Hausmann led the Wolverines with 4 tackles. Josaiah Stewart had 2 sacks.

Dominic Zvada hit two field goals, and Tommy Doman hit a 48 yard punt. Jordan Marshall had a 63 yard kickoff return, and Tyler Morris had a 19 yard punt return.
