Observations on the win over Indiana, 34-3!

-Michigan creates 4 red zones for 20 points; Indiana creates one red zone for a turnover! Each team has one turnover each on picks in the end zone stopping red zone opportunities. Michigan had a 9 and one half minute time of possession advantage resulting in 9 more offensive plays.

-Henne was 11 of 15 for 159 yards, 2 TDs and one pick plus two sacks. Arrington had 3 catches for 24 yards and one TD, Breaston had 3 catches for 103 yards and a TD plus and 83 yards punt return for a TD and 45 yards on 2 kickoff returns for a total of 231 total yards and 2 TDs. Ecker caught his first pass for 22 yards, Butler had 2 catches for 13 yards and Manningham had 2 catches for 11 yards. Michigan had 21 first downs, 208 yards in net rushing and 376 yards of total offense in 62 plays. Michigan was 7 of 12 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Patterson had 10 tackles, 2 for loss and Grosfield had 9 tackles for the Hoosiers.

-Hart had 92 yards on 19 carries for one TD. Jackson had 65 yards on 8 carries for a TD. Brandon Minor had 5 attempts for 6 yards and Carlos Brown added 25 yards on 8 carries. Darnell Hood got 2 carries at the end of the game for 12 yards; he has the same number as Minor.

-Defense had 5 sacks by Branch, Jamison, Johnson, Harris and Brandon Graham. Harris had 11 tackles, 2 for loss with one sack. Hall has 4 tackles plus 3 pass break ups. Leon Hall now holds the Michigan all-time pass break up record.Chris Graham added 4 tackles as he got the start because Burgess is still nursing his ankle injury. Trent got the end zone interception. Brandon Graham teamed with Jamison on a sack, and forced a fumble. Mundy was burned for a pass interference penalty. Defense forced Indiana into 7 punts, one turnover, stops a red zone opportunity and holds a drive to a field goal while allowing 131 yards of total offense in 53 plays and 11 first downs. Lewis had 11 runs for 5 yards after 5 sacks plus was 16 of 33 for 105 yards in passing. Bailey had 5 catches for 32 yards and Hardy grabbed 4 for 37 yards. Thigpen was held to 4 rushes for 12 yards, 3 kickoff returns for 64 yards including one 38 yarder.

-Special Teams had Mesko punted twice and Ryan once. Rivas did a nice job on kickoffs, but missed a PAT. Kickoff coverage was great except the one 38 yard return. Mathews did get a punt return for 5 yards.

-It was good to have Ecker and Massey back. Ecker and Manningham started the game. Riley played the whole game. Burgess didn't play, but I'm sure he'll return next week with lots of tape on his ankle. Barringer got the start over Engelmon as Adams started at strong safety. Boren got some more reps, and McAvoy is backing up center; Moosman must be injured. I have no idea why Carr and staff left Henne in until 6 minutes to go in the game, and risk injury. Forcier and Kastl only got a few reps each. Forcier did complete a 9 yard pass

-If our defense can hold the Bucks and Troy Smith, we'll face Texas if they can beat rival Texas A&M and Nebraska in the Big 12 title game. It is doubtful that Arkansas can beat Tennessee and LSU plus Florida in the SEC title game to make the BCS title game. If Notre Dame beats USC, they would make the BCS game if Texas or Arkansas falter. USC must beat both arch rival Cal and arch rival Notre Dame to have a change to make the BCS title game, and they'll have no easy game tonight against Oregon. Boise State and Rutgers also lurk, but it is doubtful that either would make the BCS title game although both should make a BCS bowl game. Rutgers must defeat West Virginia on the road in early December to finish their season undefeated.
