Observations on the win over Alabama, 19-13

Michigan converted 4 red zones for 16 points; Alabama gained 2 red zones for 6 points. The Wolverines scored 10 points off 3 Crimson Tide turnovers, and Alabama failed to score on one Michigan miscue.

Offense had 13 first downs, 190 net yards including 115 on the ground, and was 5 of 16 in 3rd down conversions. Davis Warren hit 9 of 12 passes for 73 yards and a TD; however, he left the game in the 3rd quarter with a leg injury after his second sack. Jordan Marshall ran 23 times for 100 yards. Ben Hall ran 16 times for 28 yards. Freddy Moore caught 3 passes for 37 yards and a TD, and ran twice for 8 yards. Alex Orji hit 2 of 3 passes for 2 yards, and ran four times for 9 yards. Hogan Hansen caught a pass for 10 yards. Joe Taylor caught a 9 yarder. Peyton O'Leary and Marlin Klein each caught 7 yarders. Michigan had a 16:24 time of possession advantage, but it only resulted in 4 more offensive plays. Jihaad Campbell led the Crimson Tide with 11 tackles. Justin Jefferson and Bray Hubbard had 9 tackles each.

Defense was phenomenal! Alabama gained 260 net yards with 68 on the ground, and 15 first downs; they were 4 of 16 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Jalen Milroe was 16 of 32 for 192 yards with one TD and one interception. Milroe ran 16 times for 7 yards after 5 sacks were deducted for 53 yards. Rico Scott had a 28 yard gain. Jamarion Miller had 10 carries for 27 yards, and 3 receptions for 36 yards. Germie Bernard had 4 receptions for 80 yards. Robbie Ouzts caught a 25 yard TD pass. Aamir Hall led the Wolverines with 9 tackles including a sack and a forced fumble plus a pass break up. Ernest Hausmann had 7 tackles, and a quarterback hit. Wesley Walker had 6 tackles plus an interception. Derrick Moore had 4 tackles including 2 sacks plus a fumble recovery. Brandyn Hillman had 4 tackles including a pass break up.

Special Teams were solid. Dominic Zvada hit 4 field goals. Hudson Hollenbeck punted 6 times for a 46.2 yard average with two downed inside the 20. Bryson Kuzdzal had a nice tackle on a punt return, and Kechaun Bennett had a nice kickoff tackle at the 15.

What a great WIN! What a great way to end the season! This win will give the team plenty of confidence and momentum for the 2025 season! Go Blue!
