Observations on the first half with Kansas State, 6-21!

Kansas State converts two red zones and a big play for 3 TDs in 3 possessions while holding the Wolverines to 2 field goals in their two red zone opportunities.

Offense gains 131 net yards with only 10 on the ground, 9 first downs, and was 3 of 6 in 3rd down conversions. Shane Morris was 15 of 19 for 121 yards with 4 to Jeremy Gallon for 35 yards. We held almost a 3 minute time of possession advantage with nothing to show for it. Ty Zimmerman had 5 tackles for the Jayhawks.

Defense was a sieve! The Jayhawks gained 210 yards, and scored TDs on every drive with 4 of 4 in 3rd down conversions. Tyler Lockett scored 3 TDs with 5 catches for 64 yards. John Hubert carried 7 times for 46 yards. Jake Waters was 9 of 11 for 128 yards.

Special Teams allowed two Lockett runbacks on kickoffs to the 40 both times. Matt Wile nailed two field goals, and a 34 yard punt.

Second Half will be a laugher for the Jayhawks who dominated the first half, and should continue to roll in the second half. It is a fitting end to a poor season with poor performances and poor coaching.
