Observations on the first half with Illinois, 17-0

Michigan converts two red zones into 10 points, and holds Illinois out of the red zone area. Neither team has a turnover.

Offense has 239 net yards with 120 on the ground, 10 first downs and is 4 of 7 in 3rd down conversions. Denard Robinson is 4 of 6 for 119 yards for a TD, and ran for 66 yards in 8 carries for a TD. Fitz Touissaint has 31 yards in 8 carries. Jeremy Gallon caught a 71 yarder for the first TD. Roy Roundtree caught a 33 yarder setting up the red zone field goal.

Defense has been solid! We held the Ilini to 121 yards, 96 on the ground with 6 first downs and held them to only 2 of 8 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Jake Ryan has 8 tackles, 2 for loss to lead the defense. Kenny Demens has 7 tackles, 1 for loss. Desmond Morgan has 3 tackles and 2 offside calls. Ilinois has more time of possession, but haven't done much with the advantage; we get the ball first in the second half.

Special Teams have been solid! Matt Wile has 3 touchbacks on kickoffs, and a punt downed at the 15. Jeremy Gallon had 2 punt returns for 14 yards. Will Hagerup had a 43 yard punt. Brendon Gibbons hit his one field goal attempt and two extra points.
