Observations on the first half with Wisconsin, 13-7
Michigan comes up with 10 points in two red zones with 3 points off one Badger turnover; Wisconsin gained no red zones.
Offense gained 8 first downs, 83 rushing yards and 120 passing yards for 203 total yards in 31 plays with 2 of 7 in 3rd down conversions. Shea Patterson was 12 of 15, but was sacked 3 times; he ran for 94 yards in 7 carries, but netted only 71 yards after the sacks were deducted. Karan Higdon could only manage 11 yards in 7 carries, but did score a TD; he also had a 15 yard reception. Nico Collins had 4 receptions for 31 yards while Donovan Peoples-Jones got 3 grabs for 30 yards. Nick Eubanks set up a score with a 28 yard reception.
Defense held the Badgers to 7 first downs, but gave up 102 net rushing yards; Wisconsin gained 127 total yards in 24 plays. We forced the Badgers into 4 punts. The 4 extra minutes we had for time of possession gave us 7 more offensive plays. Alex Hornibrook is 3 of 7 for 25 yards with an interception and two sacks. The Wisconsin offensive line is manhandling our defensive line. Jonathan Taylor had 79 yards in 11 carries. Kendric Pryor torched us on a 33 yard jet sweep for their only TD. Tyree Kinnel and Josh Metellus led the defense with 4 tackles each. Devin Bush and Josh Uche had sacks.
Special Teams were NOT good! Quinn Nordin only hit 2 of 4 field goal attempts we left 6 points on the field. Jake Moody had 4 kickoffs with 3 touchbacks. Will Hart punted once for 47 yards. Donovan Peoples-Jones had 2 returns for 32 yards.
