Michigan converted two red zones for 14 points, and capitalized on one Bronco turnover for a TD.
Offense gained 11 first downs, 184 rushing yards and 301 yards in total offense in 27 plays. Karan Higdon ran 13 times for 156 yards and a TD; Chris Evans ran 3 times for 28 yards and 2 TDs. Shea Patterson hit 9 of 11 passes for 117 yards and 2 TDs. Sean McKeon caught 2 passes sfor 23 yards and a TD. Nico Collins caught a 44 yarder for a TD.
Defense throttled the Bronco offense. Western Michigan gained 97 net yards in 37 offensive plays with 54 on the ground for 8 first downs. Jon Wassink was 8 for 17 for 43 yards with an interception by Noah Furbush. Lamar Bellamy ran 7 times for 45 yards and caught 3 passes for 3 yards. Rashan Gary had 5 tackle; Khaleke Hudson and LaVert Hill had 4 tackles each.
Special Teams blocked a punt by Khaleke Hudson. Jake Moody had 5 kickoffs with 4 touchbacks. Will Hart punted twice for a 54.5 yard average with one inside the 20.
