Observations on the first half with Texas, 3-24

Texas gained 3 red zones, and converted all three for 17 points; Michigan's offense created one red zone opportunity for 3 points. The Longhorns scored 10 points off two Wolverine turnovers.

Offense was pathetic! Michigan could only manage 90 net yards with 39 on the ground, and 4 first downs; they were only one of 5 in 3rd down conversions. Davis Warren was 8 of 11 for 49 yards with one interception. Donovan Edwards ran 6 times for 33 yards, and caught a pass for 2 yards. Kalel Mullings ran twice for 8 yards. The longest play from scrimmage came on a "flea flicker" to C.J. Charleston for 22 yards. Semaj Morgan caught 3 passes for 8 yards. Tyler Morris caught one pass for 5 yards. Colston Loveland caught 2 passes for 12 yards, but fumbled late in the 2nd quarter; his miscue led to another Texas TD. Texas had an 8 minute time of possession advantage that resulted in 24 more offensive plays. Anthony Hill led Texas with 4 tackles.

Defense was also pathetic! The Longhorns muscled their way to 279 total yards with 76 on the ground, and 15 first downs; they converted 8 of 10 3rd down conversions against our beleaguered defense. Quinn Ewers hit 18 of 26 passes for 203 yards and 2 TDs. Quintrevion Wisner ran 7 times for 28 yards. Gunnar Helm caught 6 passes for 76 yards and a TD. Jaydon Blue ran 5 times for 21 yards, and caught 5 passes for 30 yards. Jerrick Gibson ran 4 times for 22 yards and a TD. Defense couldn't pressure Ewers, and he ran 3 times for 5 yards when he needed to escape the pocket. Makari Paige had 5 tackles. Jaishawn Barham, Jyaire Hill, and Zeke Berry contributed 4 tackles each.

Special Teams were not good either. Tommy Doman punted once for 28 yards. Jordan Marshall had 2 kickoff returns for 32 yards. Dominic Zvada hit a 37 yard field goal.

Second Half will be all Longhorns! Texas came well-prepared, and are very athletic; they obviously have great speed and quickness. The Longhorns will definitely make the playoffs. Texas will continue to dominate Michigan for a lopsided win!
