Observations on the first half with Oregon, 10-28
Oregon converted three red zones for 21 points; Michigan converted two red zones for 10 points. The Wolverines scored 7 points off one Duck turnover.
Offense continued their weak ways. Michigan rolled up 111 net yards with 45 on the ground, and 5 first downs; they were one of six in 3rd down conversions. Davis Warren was 5 of 9 for 66 yards and a TD. Donovan Edwards ran 5 times for 28 yards. Kalel Mullings ran 5 times for 10 yards. Alex Orji ran twice for 9 yards. Colston Loveland caught 3 passes for 51 yards. Tyler Morris caught a 7 yard TD pass. Jabbar Muhammad led the Ducks with 4 tackles.
Defense can't handle the powerful Oregon offense. The Ducks ran up 304 total yards with 87 on the ground, and 15 first downs; they were 5 of 6 in 3rd down conversions. Oregon controlled the ball for nearly a minute more, and it gave them 12 more offensive plays. Dillon Gabriel hit 16 of 22 for 217 yards and a TD; he ran 2 times for 26 yards and a TD. Jordan James ran 10 times for 49 yards. Noah Whittington ran 4 times for 12 yards and 2 TDs. Justius Lowe caught 5 passes for 37 yards. Traeshon Holden caught 2 passes for 82 yards. Evan Stewart caught 3 passes for 16 yards and a TD. Terrence Ferguson caught 2 passes for 34 yards. Kenyon Sadiq caught 2 passes for 32 yards. Wesley Walker led the defense with 7 tackles.
Tommy Doman punted 4 times for a 45.5 yard average with 2 downed inside the 20. Joe Taylor forced a fumble recovered by C.J. Charleston; it led to our only TD. Taylor had a 29 yard kickoff return, and Keshaun Harris returned a 15 yarder. Tez Johnson had a 21 yard punt return for the Ducks, but left the game with a shoulder injury. We only forced Oregon into one punt, a 32 yarder.
