Observations on the first half with Oklahoma, 10-0

Michigan converted one red zone for 3 points, and held Oklahoma to no red zones. The Wolverines failed to score off one Sooner turnover.

Offense gained 188 net yards with 92 on the ground, and 11 first downs; they were 3 of 6 on 3rd down conversions. Bryce Underwood hit 7 of 13 for 96 yards, and ran 7 times for 52 yards including a 38 yard TD. Savion Hiter ran 5 times for 2 yards, but had 3 receptions for 41 yards. J.J. Buchanan caught 2 passes for 48 yards. Andrew Marsh ran a jet sweep for 15 yards, and caught 2 passes for 7 yards. Bryson Kuzdzal ran for 4 yards just before half. Michigan dominated time of possession by nearly 8 minutes which resulted in 2 more offensive plays. Owen Heinecke led the Sooner defense with 8 tackles inlcuding a sack.

Defense held Oklahoma to 115 net yards with 63 on the ground; they were 2 of 7 in 3rd down conversions with 7 first downs. John Mateer hit 7 of 16 for 52 yards, and ran 7 times for 21 yards. Lloyd Avant ran 5 times for 33 yards, and caught 2 passes for 10 yards. Our defensive backfield has covered Isaiah Satenga, and held him without a reception; he ran a jet sweep for 7 yards. John Henry Daley led the defense with 6 tackles, 2 for loss including a sack. Troy Bowles and Nate Staehling had 5 tackles each. Chris Bracy forced a fumble that Bowles recovered, and contributed 4 tackles.

Special Teams hit a 40 yard field goal by Trey Butkowski. Cam Brown punted twice with both downed inside the 20. Three kickoffs and three touchbacks by Jacob Baggett. The only special teams problem was a penalty for running into the kicker on a punt.

Second Half could result in a win if we don't turn the ball over, and our defense continues to come up big! Go Blue!
