Observations on the first half with Oklahoma, 0-14
Oklahoma converted both red zone trips for touchdowns; Michigan gained one red zone for zero points. The Wolverines gained one turnover, but went "3 and out."
Offense gained 118 net yards with 42 on the ground, and 7 first downs; we were 2 of 7 in 3rd down conversions. Bryce Underwood was 5 of 10 for 76 yards. Justice Haynes ran 12 times for 36 yards. Jordan Marshall ran 5 times for 12 yards. Donoven McCulley caught a 38 yard pass. Channing Goodwin caught a 25 yarder. Semaj Morgan caught a 19 yarder. Kendal Daniels, Kip Lewis, and Peyton Bowen lead the Oklahoma defense with 4 tackles each. Offensive line can't handle the Sooner front nor their run blitzes. Brent Venables is one of the finest defensive minds in the country, and he's making our offense look non-existent. Time of possession showed a slight advantage by us, but we can't do anthing offensively so it didn't matter.
The Sooners gained 221 net yards with 61 on the ground; they had 11 first downs, and were 5 of 8 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. John Mateer hit 12 of 18 passes for 160 yards and a TD with an interception; he also ran 9 times for 30 yards and a TD. Former Michigander, Deion Burks grabbed 6 catches for 92 yards and a TD. Keontez Lewis had 2 catches for 29 yards. Jaren Kanak had a 31 yard reception. Ernest Hausmann has 6 tackles for Michigan. Defense got one sack on Mateer.
Special Teams were horrid. A missed 32 yard field goal by Zvada, and 3 punts with one downed inside the 20. We forced two Oklahoma punts, and both were downed inside the 20.
Second Half will continue to be a Sooner onlaught. I thought we'd lose this game, but I suspected it would be much closer. We are having it handed to us by Oklahoma. Go Blue!
