Observations on the first half with the Buckeyes, 19-24
Michigan converts 2 red zones for 9 points, and capitalizes on one Ohio State turnover for 6 points. The Buckeyes gained one red zone for 3 points.
Offense gained 183 yards with 78 on the ground, and was 4 of 9 in 3rd down conversions. Shea Patterson was 11 of 16 for 105 yards and 2 TDs; he was sacked twice. Karan Higdon had 10 carries for 34 yards; Chris Evans ran 6 times for 27 yards, and caught 2 passes for 17 yards and a TD. Donovan Peoples-Jones has 4 catches for 30 yards. Nico Collins had a 23 yard TD reception. Michigan had 8 minutes of time of possession advantage that resulted in 4 more offensive plays.
Defense was not prepared, and are playing their worst game of the season! Ohio State has rolled up 278 net yards with 56 on the ground and 222 in the air; they are 3 of 6 in 3rd down conversions. Dwayne Haskins is 13 of 21 for 222 yards and 3 TDs. Freshman Chris Olave has 2 catches for 48 yards and 2 TDs. Paris Campbell has 2 catches for 49 yards including a 33 yarder. K.J. Hill has 2 catches for 30 yards. Johnnie Dixon caught a 31 yarder. Defense continues to give up big plays, and can't handle the intensity of the Buckeye offense. We are getting no pressure on Haskins, and he is throwing at will on the criss-crossing patterns over the middle. Devin Bush leads the defense with 5 tackles; Tyree Kinnel and Josh Metellus have 4 tackles each.
Special Teams got a turnover gift from Demario McCall, and converted it into a TD. Jake Moody hit both his field goals, and got two touchbacks on kickoffs. Will Hart has 3 punts for a 45.3 yard average. Blake Haubeil hit a late field goal for Ohio State.
Second Half had better come with changes from Harbaugh and Staff!!! Our defense is a sieve, and needs obvious corrections. Brandon Watson, Tyree Kinnel, and David Long can't cover the Buckeye receivers, and its killing us. I don't see us winning this game, but hope I'm wrong. Go Blue!
