Observations on the first half with Northwestern, 14-14

Michigan and Northwestern have two red zones each and each scored TDs on their red zone trips. The Wolverines scored 7 points off one Wildcat turnover, the Northwestern was unable to convert on Michigan's turnover.

Devin Gardner is 6 of 13 for 76 yards in the air, and ran for 48 yards on 7 carries for a TD. Fitzgerald Touissaint has 11 carries for 68 yards and a fumble for a turnover. Thomas Rawls has 3 carries for 1 yards and a TD. Jeremy Gallon has 5 catches for 44 yards. Roy Roundtree had a 32 yarder. Offense has 183 net yards, 107 on the ground, converted 5 of 7 in 3rd down conversions for 10 first downs. No complaints offensively except the fumble, it was a good first half with a 3 minute time of possession advantage.

Defense was poor in the first half! We gave up at least 5 plays of 20+ yards. The Wildcats have 188 net yards, 118 on the ground, 10 first downs and have converted 2 of 5 in 3rd down. We did force a turnover, but really don't look as prepared as we should be for their attack. They are 5 of 7 in the air for 70 yards and a TD. Venric Mark has 10 carries for 60 yards and a TD. Desmond Morgan led the defense with 5 tackles. Thomas Gordon has 4 and James Ross has 3. Jibreel Black forced the fumble on his sack.

Dennis Norfleet made a poor decision on a punt that was downed at our 6. Will Hagerup punted twice for a 51.5 yard average. Matt Wile has two kickoffs and one touchback.

2nd half will be a nailbiter! Defense must play better if we are to win this one! Go Blue!
