Observations on the first half with the Spartans, 10-7

Michigan creates two red zones, and converts both for 10 points; the Spartans come back with one red zone of their own, and convert for 7 points. No turnovers for either team.

Offense looks bad. We only gain 4 first downs, 95 net yards in 21 plays while letting the Spartans roll up an 8 minute time of possession advantage. Jake Rudock is 6 of 9 for 53 yards, and is only 1 of 5 in 3rd down conversions with 2 sacks. Sione Houma has 2 carries for 29 yards and a TD. DeVeon Smith has been stopped cold with only 16 yards on 6 carries. Jehu Chesson has 2 catches for 34 yards, and A.J. Williams caught one for 21 yards to set up our first red zone. The Spartan defense has executed their game play; they have stopped out running game and pressured Rudock with 2 sacks by Bullough and Calhoun.

Defense has their streak end! The Spartans gain 142 net yards on 36 plays while gaining 11 first downs; MSU is 2 of 7 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Connor Cook is 8 of 16 for 94 yards, and the Spartans hold a slight edge with their rushing attack, 48 to 42 yards. Jarrod Wilson and Desmond Morgan lead the defense with 4 tackles each. Chris Wormley got a sack, and two other tackles; Ryan Glasgow, Willie Henry, Royce Jenkins-Stone, and Jourdan Lewis have 3 tackles each. Captain Joe Bolden really hurt us with his targeting call, and getting ejected the rest of the game; hopefully, Ben Gedeon will have a big second half. Jourdan Lewis is doing a good job on Aaron Burbridge, but he still has 6 catches for 66 yards.

Special Teams is winning the game for us! Jabrill Peppers has a 49 yard kickoff return, and two punt returns for 32 yards. Kenny Allen converted on his only field goal attempt, and Blake O'Neill hit an 80 yard punt with two punts downed inside the Spartan 10 yard line.

2nd Half promises to be a nailbiter! Cook is picking us apart, but after the Wormley sack, maybe we'll put more pressure on him. Good defense and no turnovers, and we can win this one! Go Blue!!!
