Observations on the first half with Alabama

The Crimson Tide has thoroughly dominated both sides of the ball, and converted 17 points off 3 red zones including 14 points off 2 Michigan turnover interceptions while the Wolverines didn't cross midfield until 3:30 left in the first half on a 71 yard bomb from Denard Robinson to Gallon completing thier only red zone for 7 points.

Offense netted 119 total yards, but only 38 other than the bomb pass play. Michigan earned only 4 first downs and 20 net yards on the ground in 13 rushing attempts, and was 4 of 8 on 3rd down conversions. Denard was 5 of 16 for 99 yards, 2 picks by Milliner and Mosley.

Defense allowed Alabama 279 first half yards in total offense, 139 on the ground with 13 first downs. A.J. McCarron was 8 of 15 for 140 yards and 2 TDs. DeAndrew White caught a 51 yard TD.

Will Hagerup punted 4 times for a 50.3 yard average, and Dennis Norfleet ran back 5 kickoffs for a 21.6 yard average. Christion Jones has 4 punt returns for 58 yards.

Elliott Mealer got the start at center, Blake Countess injured his knee on the first punt and never returned and Denard Robinson hurt his shoulder tackling Milliner. Each team has two three and outs forcing Alabama into two punts.

It is certainly a disappointing start, mostly in watching Bama defeating our rush defense.
