Offense continues to look bad!!! Offense gained 187 net yeards with 82 on the ground. Wilton Speight was 7 of 12 for 105 yards with a sack, and a fumble; we were 3 of 7 in 3rd down conversions. Ty Isaac carried 9 times for 61 yards. Chris Evans had 3 carries for 18 yards, but fumbled away a good gain for a turnover. Donovan Peoples-Jones had the biggest gain of the day of 37 yards on a reception, and Zach Gentry also moved the ball to the red zone after a 30 yard reception. Tarik Black had two catches for 23 yards. Michigan held a one minute time of possesion advantage that resulted in 7 more offensive plays.
Defense played o.k., but not great. The Falcons gained 91 net yards in 24 rushes wtih 5 first downs, but were zero for 5 in 3rd down with one 4th down conversion. Arian Wortham has 15 carries for 58 yards after taking a bad sack in the red zone. We forced them into two punts. Devin Bush leads the team with 7 tackles including a sack.
Special Teams were solid with 3 field goals by Quinn Nordin, and solid kickoff play by James Foug with 2 touchbacks in three kicks; the one return was only for 15 yards. Will Hart punted once for 45 yards, and Donovan Peoples-Jones handled one punt for a fair catch. Kickoff team looked lackluster with two returns for 31 yards by Brad Hawkins and Kekoa Crawford. The Falcon punter, Charlie Scott shanked a punt which gave us great field position at the Air Force 40 for the last drive to put us ahead.
Second Half will continue to be close unless we get something going offensively. Go Blue!
