Michigan Athletes of the Year in 2007. We crowned three women's (cross country, track and gymnastics) and one men's (baseball) Big Ten Champions; we had no team champions, but only four individual NCAA Champions with Alex Vanderkay in the 400 IM (swimming), Andrew Ellerton (800), Anna Willard (Steeplechase) in track. Oklahoma State has won the most NCAA men's team titles in any sport, wrestling, with 34 (132 individual titles) followed by Southern California with 26 titles in outdoor track & field. Yale has 21 titles in golf, Iowa has 20 team titles in wrestling, Arkansas has 19 titles in indoor track & field and UCLA has 19 titles in volleyball.
Southern California has the most men's individual NCAA titles with 296 (110 in track & field and 110 in swimming and diving), followed by Michigan with 247 (155+ in swimming and diving), Stanford has 243 (134 in swimming and diving), Ohio State has 211 (117 in swimming and diving) and UCLA has 161 individual titles.
On the women's side of the ledger, Stanford has the most team titles with 35 (15 in tennis) including 158 individual titles (119 in swimming and diving), UCLA has 29 team titles (10 in softball) and 88 individual titles, LSU has 24 team titles (all in indoor and outdoor track & field with 47 individual titles, North Carolina has 22 team titles (17 in soccer), Texas has 22 team titles and 136 individual titles, Florida has 116 individual titles and Georgia has 104 individual titles. Michigan has only two team titles (Field Hockey and Softball with 21 individual titles).
