Observations on the first half with Nebraska, 39-0

Michigan completely dominated the first half with 4 red zones for 27 points including 10 points off 2 Nebraska turnovers plus a safety. The Cornhuskers has no red zones and no turnovers from the Wolverines.

Offense had 305 net yards with 12 first downs including 190 on the ground, and was 6 of 11 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Shea Patterson was 12 of 18 for 115 yards and a TD; he was only sacked once. Karan Higdon ran 12 times for 136 yards and a TD. Ben Mason ran 6 times for 18 yards and 3 TDs. Zach Gentry caught 3 passes for 32 yards and a TD. Tru Wilson spelled Chris Evans with 5 carries for 45 yards plus a pass for another 9 yards. Michigan held the ball for 10 more minutes which resulted in 19 additional offensive plays.

Defense was solid! They gave Nebraska only 3 first downs and -6 yards on the ground with 2 of 7 in 3rd down conversions; the Cornhuskers were forced into 4 "three and outs" with 5 punts, two turnovers and a safety. Devin Bush led the group with 3 tackles inlcuding a sack. Michigan had 4 sacks on Martinez. A tipped pass by Lawrence Marshall led to the first turnover of the game on an interception by Josh Metellus.

Special Teams missed an extra point, but made a 50 yards field goal by Quinn Nordin. Justin Moody had 7 kickofffs with 2 touchbacks. Will Hart punted once for 57 yards. Donovan Peoples-Jones had 2 punt returns for 17 yards, and LaVert Hill had a 14 yarder.
