Observations on the win over Indiana, 29-7

Michigan converted 6 red zone trips for 29 points; Indiana drove for one red zone for 7 points. The Wolverines gained 7 points off one Hoosier turnover; Indiana couldn't score off one Wolverine turnover.

Offense had 19 first downs, 411 yards in 66 plays with 188 on the ground; we were 4 of 13 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Hassan Haskins had 168 yards in 27 carries for a TD plus a 20 yard reception. Cade McNamara hit 10 of 18 for 168 yards and 2 TDs; he was sacked once and hurried several times by Hoosier blitzers. J.J. McCarthy was 5 of 10 for 55 yards and was sacked twice. Cornelius Johnson had 5 catches for 108 yards. Luke Schoonmaker had 3 receptions for 21 yards and 2 TDs. Roman Wilson had 3 catches for 31 yards. Michigan held a 4 minute time of possession advantage which gave them 6 more offensive plays. Raheem Layne led Indiana with 8 tackles; Bryant Fitzgerald and Devon Matthews had 7 tackles each.

Defense did well except the one long drive. Indiana gained 11 first downs, 195 yards in 60 plays with 107 on the ground; we forced the Hoosiers into 8 punts, and they were 4 of 15 in 3rd and 4th down conversions with four "3 and outs" in the second half. Donaven McCulley was 10 of 24 for 88 yards; he was sacked twice with a fumble forced by David Ojabo and recovered by Chris Hinton. McCulley also gained 37 yards in 14 carries. Payton Hendershot had 3 catches for 34 yards. Ty Tryfogle was held to zero catches. Junior Colson led the defense with 8 tackles; Josh Ross and Daxton Hill had 7 tackles each.

Special Teams were again led by Jake Moody with 3 field goals, and 7 kickoffs that were all fair caught. A.J. Henning was -6 yards on one punt return; D.J. Turner had a 25 yard return. Andrel Anthony had a 21 yard kickoff return. Brad Robbins punted four times with one downed inside the 20.
