Observations on the first half with the Gators, 13-17

Michigan converts one red zone for 3 points; Florida gained no red zones against our defense; however, the Gators converted two Wolverine turnovers into touchdowns.

Offense gained 203 net yards, 108 on the ground with 9 first downs, and were 5 of 10 on 3rd down conversions. Chris Evans gained 52 yards in 13 carries; Ty Isaac gained 52 yards in 6 carries. Wilton Speight completed 3 of 8 for 58 yards including a 46 yard TD strike to Tarik Black; however, he threw two touchdowns to Florida with 48 and 41 yard interceptions. Black has two grabs for 83 yards. John O' Korn was one for one for 37 yards. David Reese leads the Gators with 8 tackles. Florida has 3 sacks.

Defense was dominant! We held the Gators to 91 yards in total offense with only 16 on the ground with just 4 first downs, and only 1 of 6 in 3rd down conversions. Devin Bush has 4 tackles, two for loss including a sack. LaVert Hill has 3 tackles, and Khaleke Hudson has 2 tackles plus a quarterback hit. Felipe Franks completed 5 of 8 for 75 yards. Hill didn't look good on cover.

Special Teams were hot and cold. Kickoff team looked good with James Foug gaining 3 touchbacks, and a 15 yard kickoff on one that came out. Quinn Nordin set a new Michigan record with a 55 yard field goal. Will Hart's first punt was blocked, and went for 12 yards. Donovan Peoples-Jones had 3 returns for 26 yards, but two from inside the 10. We held a 6 minute time of possession advantage resulting in 15 more offensive plays.

Second Half needs to be mistake free if we are to have a chance to win! Go Blue!
