Observations on the First Half with Rutgers, 21-7

Michigan gained 3 red zones, and converted 2 for 14 points. Rutgers gained no red zones. Neither team turned the ball over.

Offense gained 15 first downs, 246 net yards in 41 plays, and was 6 of 10 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. Shea Patterson was 13 of 19 for 155 yards and a TD. Karan Higdon had 38 yards on 11 carries for 2 TDs, and True Wilson added 25 more on 3 carries. Nico Collins had 2 receptions for 46 yards including a 36 yard TD. Donovan Peoples-Jones had 3 catches for 25 yards. Zach Gentry, Oliver Martin, Chris Evans and Ronnie Bell had 2 receptions each. The 11 minute time of possession advantage resulted in 22 more offensive plays.

Defense held the Scarlett Knights to 3 first downs, 104 net yards, and they were 0 for 5 in 3rd and 4th down conversions; however, Isaih Pacheco scored and 80 yard TD. Arthur Sitkowski was 2 of 6 for 0 yards. Brad Hawkins replaced Josh Metellus, and led the defense with 4 tackles.

Special Teams had 4 kickoffs by Justin Moods, and one punt downed inside the 20 by Will Hart. Ambry Thomas had a 30 yard kickoff return.
