Observations on the first half with Alabama, 13-10

Alabama converted one Michigan turnover for 7 points; the Wolverines held the Crimson Tide out of the red zone in the first half, and converted one red zone for 7 points.

Offense gained 197 total yards with 9 first downs, and were 2 of 6 in 3rd and 4th down conversions. J.J. McCarthy hit 9 of 14 for 115 yards and 2 TDs. Blake Corum ran 9 times for 51 yards, and caught and 8 yard pass for a TD. Semaj Morgan caught 3 passes for 17 yards. Tyler Morris caught a 38 yard TD pass. Roman Wilson caught a 20 yard pass. Kalel Mullings caught a 19 yard pass. Colston Loveland caught 2 passes for 13 yards. The Wolverines held nearly a 2 minute time of possession advantage that resulted in 6 more offensive plays. Deonte Lawson has 5 tackles for Alabama.

Defense held Alabama to four "three and outs," and recorded 5 sacks on Jalen Milroe. The Crimson Tide was held to 5 first downs, and was 2 of 7 in 3rd down conversions; they gained 96 yards in total offense. Milroe was 5 of 8 for 53 yards and ran 11 times for -2 yards. Jase McClellan ran 5 times for 46 yards and a TD. Isaiah Bond had 2 receptions for 30 yards. Mike Sainristil, Josiah Stewart, Makari Paige, Michael Barrett, and Junior Colson all had 3 tackles each.

Special Teams wer horrid! Semaj Morgan's fumble on a punt return led to an Alabama TD, and a muffed extra point in a game with this magnitude is unthinkable. Tommy Doman punted 3 times for only 36.3 yards per boot. The only bright spot was a special teams kickoff tackle by Matt Hibner at the 16.

Second Half should be exciting! We must maintain defensive control of the game, and not have any turnovers on offense. Offense can score on this Alabama crew! Winner to National Championship!!! Go Blue!
