Observations on the first half with Ohio State, 14-10

Each team gained one red zone, and each scored 7 points; Michigan scored 7 points off one Buckeye turnover.

Offense couldn't really get it going! They only gained 119 total yards with 34 on the ground, and only 6 first downs. J.J. McCarthy hit 8 of 11 for 85 yards and a 22 yard TD to Roman Wilson; he also ran 3 times for 2 yards after a sack. Blake Corum ran 9 times for 19 yards and a TD. Donovan Edwards ran 6 times for 13 yards, and caught 2 passes for 5 yards. Roman Wilson has 2 catches for 31 yards and a TD. Colston Loveland has 2 catches for 23 yards. Cornelius Johnson caught a 19 yard pass. A.J. Barner caught a 7 yard pass. We are only 1 of 7 on 3rd down, but 3 for 3 on 4th down conversions; we have been forced into 3 punts. Time of possession is even. Steele Chambers leads the Buckeyes with 7 tackles. Jack Sawyer has 5 tackles including a sack.

Defense started well, but the Buckeyes rolled up 193 total yards with 156 in the air. Ohio State has 8 first downs, and is 2 of 6 in 3rd down conversions; defense forced them into 2 punts and a turnover. Kyle McCord is 12 of 19 for 156 yards with TD plus an interception by Will Johnson returned to the 7 yard line for our only red zone. TreVeyon Henderson has 9 carries for 19 yards plus 3 catches for another 19 yards. Chip Trayanum has 3 carries for 14 yards. Marvin Harrison has 2 catches for 68 yards. Cade Stover has 3 catches for 42 yards. Emeka Egbuka has 2 catches for 9 yards and a TD. Julian Fleming and Xavier Johnson each have 9 yard receptions. Junior Colson leads the Wolverines with 7 tackles; Kris Jenkins has 4 tackles.

Special Teams were solid! Tommy Doman nailed a punt at the 2 yard line, and has been excellent on kickoffs. Jayden Fielding hit a field goal, but missed the 53 yarder just before halftime. A couple first half penalties really hurt Michigan; Ohio State has no penalties.

Second Half will be a nailbiter! We have got to pressure McCord more with our pass rush! I was expecting a better effort from our Defensive Line! Who plays the best will win, and our offense has to get the job done if we are to outscore the Buckeyes. Go Blue!
