Observations on the first half with Hawaii, 42-0

The game has gone according to script. J.J. McCarthy hit 11 of 12 passes for 229 yards and 3 TDs; he ran once for 16 yards. Michigan converted 4 red zones for 28 points, and amassed 410 total yards of offense in 32 plays with 170 on the ground and 17 first downs. Blake Corum ran 9 times for 88 yards with a TD. Donovan Edwards ran 3 times for 26 yards and a TD plus caught a 33 yarder. Roman Wilson caught a 42 yard TD, and ran a reverse in from 21 yards for a second TD. Cornelius Johnson caught 2 passes for 71 yards and a TD. Ronnie Bell caught 6 passes for 74 yards and a TD.

Defense was stellar! Joey Yellen was 5 of 17 for only 33 yards; Hawaii could only gain 14 yards on the ground for 47 total yards with only 2 first downs, and no red zones. The Rainbows were forced into 8 punts. R.J. Moten led the defense with 4 tackles

Special Teams were solid behind Jake Moody with all kickoffs for touchbacks except one which was returned only 23 yards. Brad Robbins only punted twice with one downed inside the 20.
