Observations on the first half with Cincinnati, 17-7

Each team created one red zone each with Cincinnati converted their red zone for a touchdown while Michigan could only muster 3 points; each team scored 7 points off turnovers.

Offense looked bad! The Wolverines only have 87 rushing yards, 199 yards of total offense with 9 first downs, and are 4 of 8 in 3rd down conversions. Wilton Speight was 9 of 13 for 112 yards, but had two fumbles; one in the red zone that resulted in a field goal, and another that was a turnover. Ty Isaac got his first start, and has 10 carries for 49 yards. Donovan Peoples-Jones ran a jet sweep for 44 yards resulting in the red zone opportunity. Chris Evans has 4 carries for 14 yards. Tarik Black has 3 receptions for 13 yards, Grant Perry has 2 catches for 31 yards, and Kekoa Crawford has 2 receptions for 57 yards including a 43 yard TD on the first drive of the game.

Defense played solidly! We held Cincinnati to 105 total yards, 32 on the ground with 7 first downs and only 3 of 10 in 3rd down conversions. Devin Bush led the defense with 5 tackles, and Tyree Kinnel had 4 tackles plus a 28 yard interception for a TD. Khaleke Hudson has 2 sacks. Hayden Moore is only 6 of 21 for 73 yards and he's been sacked 3 times with an interception.

Special Teams had a 28 yard field goal by Quinn Nordin. Will Hart put two punts inside the 20. Donovan Peoples-Jones had 3 punt returns for 19 yards. Only 30 seconds separate the teams with possession time

Michigan needs to stop the first drive, and spend the rest of the half scoring! Go Blue!
